He was formerly the Washington Bureau Chief for Modern Healthcare magazine, and a reporter for Advertising Age magazine.

Knut Kjær is the Chairman of Sector Asset Management Group and FSN Capital. He was the founding CEO of NBIM from 1998 to 2008 and is a member of the advisory committees of China Investment Corporation and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. In 2005-2006, Knut took part in the working group that, upon invitation by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, drafted the UN PRI.
